苹果英语怎么说（＂Big Apple＂居然不是“大苹果”）

说起"apple"，今年的苹果真尼玛贵，都吃不起了，不对，偏题了。说起"apple"，每一位小伙伴都会想到苹果，或是iPhone，但是除了这些，apple可还有其他的意思噢。

比如说"the Big Apple"，细心的童鞋想必以及发现了，这里都是有大写的，和"big apple"(大苹果)可是不一样的，作为一个专有名词，其实"the big Apple"表示的其实是“纽约”，是不是很吃惊？

相传，当年纽约经济大衰退时，许多银行家失业潦倒，都被迫以卖苹果来维持生计。苹果对纽约经济扮演相当重要角色，因此the Big Apple成为了纽约市的昵称。

苹果和橘子，两种不同的东西，也可以表示“风马牛不相及和大不相同的两种事物”。

它俩没法比较。

the apple of sb's eye

可别翻译成“可不是某人眼中的苹果”，苹果一直是个好东西，所以"the apple of sb's eye"其实是“心肝宝贝、掌上明珠”的意思。

像苹果派一样美国？可不能这么翻，这个短语说的是“非常美国味的或者地道美国式的”。
